"THE OLD BARN HOCKEY SHOW" IS ON THE AIR!

It's been a long time in the making, and perhaps a long time coming, but JohnWaltonHockey.com in conjunction with 1460 The Ticket in Harrisburg has created central PA's first-ever hockey podcast. Starting today, you'll be able to download on demand the latest with the Hershey Bears, the Washington Capitals and the NHL at large with "The Old Barn Hockey Show" on WTKT.com. I'll be joined each week by BEARS season ticket holder Frank Schofield from WTKT as well as special guests all season long. Our guest this week is Washington Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau, and Frank and I talk about this year's Hershey squad, who to pick on your NHL fantasy team and much more. The show records Mondays, and a new show will be available every week at 5:00 p.m. A lot of you have asked me over the years if we would ever bring back the Monday radio show, and I'm glad that we now have found a way to do that. For those fans that are hoping to have a show in person with players in attendance, we have that covered for you as well. Periodically, we're going to record the show on location, and our first restaurant show will be on Monday, November 3 at Fire Alley restaurant in Hershey. We'll have more information on that one (including the guest list) later on, but we're certainly doing what we can to give you what you've been asking for. I think it's a show that fills a need for fans in the podcast/Ipod age, and we're very happy it's finally come together. You can send your questions to me and to Frank for the show at the following e-mail address theoldbarn@1460theticket.com, and we're looking for feedback on what you'd like to see within the show.

Here's the link to check it out. I hope you like it, and we look forward to seeing you at Fire Alley on November 3. Thanks not only to Fire Alley for sponsoring the show, but Fairview Golf Course and Faulkner Honda are also big supporters of this venture, and we're grateful for that. If you like the show, please patronize our sponsors and tell them you heard them on The Old Barn.

agreed. this is a great idea, hopefully it will also continue with hockey coverage weekly throughout the offseason, even though it is hard to keep up since there isn't too much news. but THANK YOU JOHN!!!

Great show, John. Terrific idea. Also glad to have sportsjuice for the game audio broadcasts. Thanks for your efforts.

Thanks guys, I appreciate what's been written here, but Frank deserves a lot of credit as well. He's a passionate Bears fan and season ticket holder that really has been the driving force at Clear Channel with this. Without him, this doesn't happen, so I have to give him great props for this. We'll take our lead from you on what we should talk about and what works, and I think it will only get better from here. The live show on November 3 will be a good introduction to everything as well. Glad everyone is enjoying it so far.

I hear Frank's a maple leafs fan.

Anyway, John, what time is the live show. 5pm?

The live show will be later on, at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3. Obviously, for those listening, the live shows will be downloaded later on in the evening instead of 5:00 p.m., but the plan is to do this a handful of times a year to get out and fill the niche that has been lacking back to the days of Monday Night Face-off.

The first show was great and already looking forward to next week's. Definitely a great local hockey fix for a Monday! The live shows will be even better. Have it marked on my calendar! Will definitely forward any topics or ideas I can think of as it would be a good outlet for the countless hours I "waste" thinking about the Bears and hockey in general!
