Mike Vogel gives us an excellent account of Thursday's Rookie game at Kettler between the Caps and Flyers, a game in which Washington prevailed 7-0. For BEARS fans, it's even better than that, with two goaltenders potentially ticketed for central PA playing very well. There were several members of Philly's rookie team that will pull on a Phantoms sweater in a few weeks. Hopefully Thursday's result in northern Virginia will translate to a good season series with the boys down the Turnpike. Here's Mike's report from Arlington.

I attended the game and agree with Mike's comments. The Caps dominated play at both ends of the ice throughout the game. It really was a team effort as almost everyone wearing the red sweaters played well/hard, this included several guys who will end up in chocolate and white in a couple weeks. Very encouraging. It will be interesting to see who ends up down here to mix with the solid team of veterans ready to go. Each day seems to get me more excited for the opener!
